- Treat your neighbor
-
If you have Reiki training, and especially, but not only, if you live in Israel/Palestine, you can volunteer to give or exchange Reiki treatments with people who you would ordinarily think of as the “other.” Just offering treatments to someone who needs support can further the cause of peace. If you are giving or wish to give volunteer Reiki treatments, please notify us in Reiki for Peace so that we can support you, and so that we can keep track of your activities. If you do not live in Israel/Palestine, we can help you to get in touch with Jewish-Palestinian Dialogue Groups.f you have Reiki training, and especially, but not only, if you live in Israel/Palestine, you can volunteer to give or exchange Reiki treatments with people who you would ordinarily think of as the “other.” Just offering treatments to someone who needs support can further the cause of peace. - Volunteer Treatments in hospitals and more
-
Do you have time to volunteer to give treatments in a hospital or neighborhood center? Please contact us and we will try to place you in an appropriate department with an appropriate Reiki client.
- Reiki Sharing
-
Suggest that your Reiki Circle “adopt” Reiki for Peace. For example, if five people meet once a week, and each person contributes $10 per session, that is $200/month or $2,000/year (assuming that some sessions are missed because of holidays and so on) or maybe more. Some will prefer to put $10 cash in the kitty each time; some will prefer to give one check. Some may give more than this suggested amount. Some may wish to give less (or none). Choose one person to collect the money and send it as a single group contribution to Reiki for Peace.
- Distance Reiki for Reiki for Peace
-
Where ever you are, if you have Second Degree Reiki training (RII), please send Reiki to Reiki for Peace and to Rahel's Peace Address. If you have Second Degree Reiki Sharing Meetings, sending Reiki as a group would be even more powerful.
- If you are religious
-
Reiki for Peace is not a religious organization. However, many of our members are religious: Jewish, Muslim, and Christian (so far!). We acknowledge the power of prayer, and will be grateful if you include Reiki for Peace in your prayers, hold us in the Light, or however you choose to support us spiritually.
- Benefit Reiki Treatments
-
Many first degree (and even second degree) Reiki students want to give Reiki treatments, want to practice, but do not yet feel ready to be paid as professional Reiki practitioners. Suggest to your clients that for every Reiki treatment they receive, instead of paying you, they contribute money to Reiki for Peace. They can give you cash, and when you accumulate enough, you can send it along.
- Reiki Marathon
-
Have a Reiki Marathon and charge admission. Send the profits (after expenses) to Reiki for Peace.
- Alternative/Complementary Medicine Event
-
Have a Fund Raising EVENT with all kinds of activities associated with Alternative and Complementary Medicine. Charge for a Hugging booth, a 15min seated massage, or any other kind of treatment; send the proceeds to Reiki for Peace.
- Story Hour
-
Everyone likes stories. Have a story hour for little kids on your block; for grown ups who want to unwind in the evening over a cup of tea; do it in a coffee house; have a poetry reading! Suggest to your older kids that they have story hours for the younger kids, and charge a small amount. Tell the kids about Reiki for Peace: they will feel good if they can support our work.
- Art Exhibit
-
Do you paint? Do you have kids who paint? Or sculpt? Or are you creative photographers? Create an Art Exhibit in your neighborhood, in your Synagogue or Mosque or Church, and charge a small admission fee. Make sure that people understand what you will do with the money.
- Pot-Luck Supper or Picnic
-
Invite your friends to a pot-luck supper or Picnic. In addition to bringing some food to share, each person could contribute the cost of the meal to Reiki for Peace.
- Elegant Meal
-
Invite your friends to an elegant meal that you will prepare at your home. Ask the participants to contribute the cost of a (hopefully expensive) restaurant meal to Reiki for Peace.
- Dance Evening
-
Swing? Ballroom Dancing? Folk Dancing? Jitterbug? Choose your style and organize a Benefit Dance Evening. Charge enough to cover your expenses and to have enough left over to send to Reiki for Peace.
- Concert
-
Are you a musician? A music student? Like to sing? Do you have friends who do all that? Get together, create a concert, and charge for admission. Send us the proceeds!
- Theatre Production
-
Put on a play or a musical. Charge for admission, and send us the profits after expenses!
- For those of you who are members of religious organizations
-
Reiki for Peace is not a religious organization. However, many of our members are religious: Jewish, Muslim, and Christian (so far!). Perhaps the congregation of your Church, Mosque, or Synagogue would like to support Reiki for Peace? Many of the ideas mentioned above would be suitable for activities in such organizations.
- Getting Reiki where you live
-
So far, Rahel has traveled to teach Reiki and talk about Reiki for Peace not only in Israel/Palestine, but also in more than a dozen cities in the US and Canada and also in The Netherlands. Contact us if you would like to invite Rahel to your area to teach or to lecture about (and help raise funds for) Reiki for Peace.
